Description
Petition of Patrick FitzGerald to the Corporation of Kilkenny, referring to the common dyke of the south side of St.John's Street; which is decayed and in no way fensible to the great terror and danger of the inhabitants of the street, who live in continual fear of robbery and burnings. He requests to be allowed 10 shillings of the yearly rent of his dwelling house in St. John's Street, in consideration for which he will build a wall of lyme and stone 50 feet long, 10 feet high, three foot thick in the foundation for the height of five feet and two foot in thickness from thence to the top of the work - which he undertakes to perform and accomplish by the 1st of May 1626.
