Description
The Plough and the Stars is set during the turbulence of the Easter 1916 rebellion. It premiered in 1926 at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. The first two acts take place in 1915, looking forward to the liberation of Ireland, and the last two acts are set during 1916's Easter Rising.
The second in a series of Leaving Certificate curriculum plays, providing young people in the southeast with the opportunity to see their Leaving Cert drama brought to life on stage.
