Title A name given to the resource Fadó Fadó - Sparking Memories - Kilkenny Young Researchers Primary School Competition 2025 Description An account of the resource The competition offered primary school pupils (3rd-6th class) an opportunity to work as historians and personally engage with the local studies strand of the history curriculum. We invited and encouraged students to become young researchers and historians as they dug deep into history to learn about their local heritage. Entries were submitted under the two categories: Junior Competition: 3rd & 4th class pupils & Senior Competition: 5th & 6th class pupils. 116 students took part in the competition and the winners, runners up and highly commended students are invited to attend with their parents/guardians and teachers. Schools throughout County Kilkenny responded enthusiastically to the challenge.
