Photographs of the interior and exterior of Mount Juliet House from the McCalmont family photographs and estate workers dating back to 1900. Also contains newspaper clippings from 1986 on the sale of Mount Juliet House and from Sotheby's auction.

Within this collection you will find photographs of Mount Juliet House' interior & exterior as they appeared during the early 1990s. You will see an example of the Adam-style marble chimney pieces which were installed upon the instruction of Lady Rose McCalmont. You will also see various examples of the original entrance on the front, facing the river, before the main access was changed in the 1920's to what had been the back of the house, on the west side. Included in the collection are also 2 photo's of the ballroom, which was created by Major Dermot McCalmont in the 1920's and in which numerous splendid balls were held int the next decades. Along with this are several examples of Lady Rose McCalmont, wife of Sir Hugh going about her every-day life, inspecting the ground and gardens and feeding the pigeons. There are also a couple of photographs of Zara Pollok, first cousin of Lady Rose who would go on to marry Alexander Hore-Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie in 1908 and accompanied her husband to Australia where he later became Governor-General of Australia. In later years, McCalmont family photo's were entered, including of Victor, son of Major Dermot, who sold the estate in 1989. The latter stages of the album contain various newspaper articles from 1986 detailing the circumstances and context behind Victor McCalmonts decision to put the estate up for sale at that time.
