Title

Circle of Light - 2020

Subject

A poem highlighting some of the niceties that have come into our lives as a result of Covid 19 Lockdown

Description

Circle Of Light : 2020
Not an engine in the sky
Nor a plume trailing by
No dog locked in its shed
Nor a baby dropped at a creche
Hands on the clock seem to have stopped
An hour is an hour; not 'is that the time?'
More time to plan, no panic or sweat
We'll do it .. whenever we can
Families walking, cycling, jogging
Jackets, helmets - all properly vetted
'Mature' couples ambling, nice and steady
Crossing the road no longer a headache
Birds are mad singing, all a chorus
No loud traffic or truck interference
Fat cats just lie there and give them the eye
But can someone shut that wood pigeon, or will I?
These are some niceties, now only just a few
Maybe help us realize what we can do
Of course it will revert, all in good time
But for the moment, think and indulge
•.. and remember for the rest of your lives
